Blankets for Babies

Blankets for Babies involves making blankets for babies at your area hospitals.  We supply fabric through grants we receive and your students make the blankets. No sewing involved.  We then deliver these to needy moms and babies at hospitals in your area.  Contact us to help keep a baby warm.

Why you should help!

Every time we hear the difficulty of an infant who has been born into difficult circumstances our hearts go out to them. If the mother has struggled with drug addiction, or the baby suffered during the delivery and has serious health concerns we often feel as though we wish there was something we could do to help. And many organizations are now initiating blankets for babies which collect new blankets for deserving infants.

It's not only children who have suffered some trauma during delivery that are in need of the comfort and security of having a blanket of their own. Infants who have been born into families that have limited monetary resources also can benefit with a blankets for babies campaign.

“Mary Ann* A few weekends ago, a five-week-old baby was brought in to the ER not breathing and they were struggling to get a heart beat. Later, a nurse from the ER wanted a blanket.  She said that the baby had died and they wanted a special warm blanket to wrap the baby in so that the mother could rock him for as long as she wanted. Because of our students, they could give her one of Youth Together's blankets. The ER nurse said that it was just right. They put a rocking chair in the room and wrapped the baby so Mary Ann could hold and love him for as long as she wanted. I checked in with the ER later & they said it was just the right thing. A mother and baby had a very special time together. She’ll take the blanket home and have it forever. What you give from your heart means so much.
